Our Mission

The Scytále, by nature, is one of the earliest encryption devices in history used in Ancient Greece to communicate securely during military campaigns.

Scytáles AB aims to utilise the same ethos to develop technology that eradicates fraud and enables accessible and inclusive digital identity for all.

What we do

Our proprietary technologies allow us to function in the areas of ISO Mobile Driving Licence/Mobile ID, EU/Digital ID Wallets, Open ID technologies, Derived Mobile ID, National ID, Travel Documents, Resident Permit, Tachographs, Voter ID, Healthcare ID, Corporate ID, eMoney, identification going digital into a mobile or a file on a server, Object ID, Authenticity/Traceability/Connectivity, Biometrics, Public Key Infrastructure/X509/ICAO 9303/PKD, Applied Cryptography and Credential Service Provider (CSP) Solutions.

Scytáles is a frontrunner in the ISO international standardization work that is under development— ISO/IEC 18013-5 ISO/IEC JTC1/SC17/WG10, “Personal Identification – ISO-Compliant Driving Licence – Part 5: Mobile Driving Licence Application”, and Part 7, among other ISO/CEN WGs related to our developments and WG memberships.

Our Story

At the very heart of our Scytáles story is a seasoned team of passionate champions for robust, inclusive, innovative digital/mobile identity solutions that advance sustainable and useful identity ecosystems through global interoperability. We, the founders and key members were united over a strong belief that we could make a significant difference, even sitting in the driving seat for some of this mobile identity transformation at the heart of our digital society. At the end of the day, it is about building trust in the digital world and generating social and economic benefits to society. It is about making everyone feel secure while in control of their digital footprint. And we take enormous pride and care that in our journey, we create an absolutely fun and fulfilling place to be part of. Scytáles AB was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in December 2014.
